CWP comes with built in themes (collection of HTML templates and presentational styles) ready to use called Starter theme and Wātea theme. There are several ways to customise the way your site looks without having to get developers or designers to build a new theme for you, and these are detailed below.
You will require CMS administrator access to edit theme configurations within the Settings section which can be found in the main CMS menu. Please note that if you have your own theme some of these options may not function as described unless your developer has maintained support for the following features.
The site-wide title and tagline can be configured through the Settings section. Add your Site title and Site tagline in the provided fields and click the button Save.
This change will affect several areas in the site, but specifics depend on the template used. The default template will display the title and tagline in the header area, in the footer copyright and in the page title.
By default, the CWP Starter theme has the newzealand.govt.nz logo shown in the bottom right of the theme (website footer).
These can be changed as follows:
The logos aren't automatically resized, so make sure they are exactly the size you'd like them to appear before uploading them.
Please note: This feature is only available in CWP 2.x and is disabled by default. A developer will need to enable this, see the developer documentation(external link) to learn more.
When using the Wātea theme, the main font and colours of your site can be configured through the Settings section.
These can be changed as follows:
1. In the CMS, navigate to the Settings section, Theme Options tab.
2. Select the desired font and colours for each area of your site.
3. Click the button Save.
Note: Please ensure the accent colour is not the same as any of the background colours as there are areas where the accent colour should contrast against the background colours.
You can add a link to your organisation's Facebook page by following these steps:
In a similar way, you can add a link to your organisation's Twitter account to the Twitter username field.
When using the Wātea theme, these two options will add linked icons in the bottom right of the footer of each page.
You can also let your site visitors share pages on your site through their own social networks by setting up AddThis.
With the default CWP theme, icons in themes/default/ico
are used by default to display the favicon and Apple Touch Web Clip icons(external link), the latter are used when you bookmark the website to the home screen of an iOS device.
These can be changed as follows:
